What does persevere even mean?
to persist in a state, enterprise, or undertaking in spite of counter influences, opposition, or discouragement
so what does it mean for a person to persevere?
Read the following prompt. You will have 40 minutes to complete your response, highlight your concrete details, and highlight your commentary (use different color highlighters). Your first sentence MUST be a lead in using the quote, and your second sentence MUST be a thesis statement.

In an article entitled “Harrison Ford: Imperfect Hero,” journalist Garry Jenkins quoted the actor as saying, “We all have big changes in our lives that are more or less a second chance.”

Think about an event that changed your life in an important way and showed perseverance. Did you move? Transfer to a new school? Acquire a new step parent? Lose a loved one?
