Transcript of The Cell is like Doctor Who

Cassdiy Holbrook The Cell is like Doctor Who The nucleus is the part of the cell that hands out orders to other parts of the cell. The Nucleus is like The Doctor The Rough ER holds ribosomes and transports proteins. The Rough ER is like the T.A.R.D.I.S The Cell Wall separates the cell contents from the rest of the environment around it. Mitochondria is the organelle that makes energy available for the cell. Mitochondria is like future journalism The Golgi apparatus is a stack of membranes in the cell, in which enzymes attach carbohydrates and lipids to proteins. It sends proteins to their final destination. The Golgi Apparatus is like the Weeping Angels Lysosomes break down food, cell waste, and worn out cell parts. Lysosomes are like the screwdriver Vacuoles are like the Ood The Doctor is the only remaining Time Lord. He travels through time and space, usually with a human companion(s). The Doctor goes on adventures with his companions, and is generally in charge of what goes on. The TARDIS is The Doctor's time machine. It is disguised as a police box. The Doctor uses it to fly across the universe and to of course, time travel. Space Stations protect humans and creatures from the harsh environment of outer space. The Cell Wall is like the space stations The Weeping Angels are creatures that look just like stone angels. They don't move while you're looking at them, but if you're not they'll attempt to touch you. If a Weeping Angel touches you, you will be send back in time and you will never return to the time you came from. Journalists in the future get their information by having a hole opened in their head and getting data beamed into it. Journalists get much more information this way and can now give more of it to the people and creatures living on the space station. The Sonic Screwdriver is a tool used by the Doctor. It can do almost everything, like break down locks, operate computers, and perform medical scans. Vacuoles store water, waster products, and food until they are needed. They're sort of the motherly figure of the cell. The Ood are peaceful race of aliens. For a while they were kept as slaves, but were happy with their jobs. They loved to take care of people and make sure everything is clean and that everyone is full. Ribosomes are small particles that make protein. Ribosomes are like the Legion of the Beast The Beast was trapped for billions of years in a pit on the planet Krip Tor. He was awakened when a ship, holding humans wanting to steal an energy force on the planet, landed on the planet. The Beast then telepathically spoke to the empathic Ood, who became the Legion of the Beast. The cytoskeleton is a network of protein filaments that helps the cell to maintain its shape. The Cytoskeleton is like regeneration Regenerating is the Time Lords way of 'cheating death' and maintaing shape. Whenever a Time Lord is wounded or old, they can regenerate and receive a new body, along with a slightly different personality. The cell membrane decides what gets in and what gets out of the cell. The Cell Membrane is like Jackie Tyler Jackie Tyler is Rose's, one of the Doctor's past companions, mother. At first, Jackie doesn't like the Doctor and the idea of him being in her daughter's life, but she eventually warms up to him. The smooth ER stores a synthesis of charged particles, like ions and steroids. The Smooth ER is like human-Daleks Human Daleks are, obviously, a synthesis of a human and a Dalek. They were created during a experiment on Dalek flesh in Manhattan during the early 1930s. Chloroplast is like heart of the T.A.R.D.I.S Chloroplast is only found in plant cells. It uses sunlight to make energy. The heart of the T.A.R.D.I.S is the most important part of the T.A.R.D.I.S. It is what gives the T.A.R.D.I.S energy, and keeps the occupants inside in time with their surroundings.
