The Four Noble Truths The Fourth Noble Truth: The Eightfold Path The Fourth Noble Truth is the way to Nirvana by following 8 steps. The First Step: Right View The Second Step: Right Intention The Fourth Step: Right Action The Fifth Step: Right Livelihood Category Two: Morality Category 3: Practice Is to study the nature of reality. We learn that we are inter-dependent on one another. In the end we will lead to a more virtuous life. Is the realization that we are all connected. We begin to wish no harm. Eventually we become naturally inclined to avoid violence towards others. The Third Step: Right Speech Not acting in ways that would corrupt/bring harm - physically, mentally and spiritually - to oneself or others. Actions become more virtuous and right. Result is a more virtuous, positive lifestyle. Pursue a living that does not harm yourself or others. Your life's work becomes a benefit for others. The result is a more virtuous, helpful lifestyle. Preparing positive states of mind. Freeing oneself from evil and destructive states and preventing them from arising in the future. Category One: Wisdom Do not swear, lie or spread gossip. Become honest and spread words positively. Mindset and communication becomes truthful and positive. The Sixth Step: Right Effort The Seventh Step: Right Mindfulness Developing awareness of the body, sensations, feelings and states of mind.
