Puberty happens over a long period of time, it is not immediate. Puberty is caused by your hormones. Though some changes are immediate the process may take about 8-10 years. Girls start before boys in puberty. Changes that happen to girls: Breasts develop, hips widen, menustration begins. Changes that happen to boys: Facial hair grows, voice deepens, shoulders broaden. Changes that happen to both: Acne develops and body hair develops. That is puberty. For more info go to: http://kidshealth.org/teen/index.jsp?tracking=T_Home THe end
