Chitre was raised in a rural town, this helps him convey the alienation that he feels from being in an urban city. Father Returning Home is a concise poem about his life in an urban city with his children and his feelings towards it. In the second stanza, the man feels isolated (even with his family), for the man he was in total shock from visiting the city. Once he arrives home, his son (the narrator) immediately senses his fathers restlessness.
