Back-to-School Presentation

Homework and Grading
As students get older their homework load increases. It is a general rule of thumb in education to assign 10 minutes of homework per grade level. Therefore, our third graders will be expected to complete roughly
30 minutes of homework a night.

Homework assignments will be noted on our weekly update and your child’s assignment notebook.

Take a look at our general homework schedule:
Math- nightly (unless there is a test)
Reading- Read 10 minutes nightly
Spelling- 3-5 minutes nightly
No weekend homework

Grades can be viewed at anytime on ParentVue.
Email is the best form of communication! My email address is : swagner@bluevalleyk12.org

I will send out a weekly email on Fridays containing important information regarding the upcoming week. Please make sure to read through our classroom update each week!

Visit our classroom website to view important links, schedules, project examples, etc. Our website can be found on the TCE homepage.

Absences and Tardies
Your child’s daily attendance plays a large role in their continued success.

In the event of an absence, please email both the front office and myself.

Dismissal changes should also be sent via email to your child’s classroom teacher and the office. Please make sure to email any changes prior to 3PM.

If you have a planned vacation,
please let me know at least 2 days in
