AC/DC Members names and what they played. The band members consisted of Dave Evans, the vocalist from 1973 to 1974, Larry Van Kriedt on bass from 1973 to 1975, Neil Smith on bass in 1974, Colin Burgess on drums from 1973 to 1974, Russel Coleman, Ron Carpenter, and Noel Taylor on drums in 1974, and Peter Clack on drums from 1974 to 1975. In there later years there were other band members like Rob Bailey on bass from 1974 to 1975, Bon Scott on vocals from 1974 to 1980, and Mark Evans on bass and back vocals from 1975 to 1977. The last of the band members were Simon Wright on drums from 1983 to 1989, and Chris Slade on drums and percussion from 1984 to 1994. The most current band members are Angus Young on lead guitar, Malcom Young on rythm guitar, Phil Rudd on drums, Cliff Williams on bass guitar, and Brian Johnson on lead vocals. AC/DC has many accomplishments. They have lots of albums, awards, cool concert tours, and interesting past stories. They have a multitude of styles; Hard Rock, Blues Rock, and Rock'n'Roll. They have been together for 40 years and are still together to this day. Through all the years and changes in the band, they still have millions of fans all over the world. Having them in this music festival is sure to draw a large crowd, as well as pull at the heartstrings. How the band formed. AC/DC's inspiration and idol. The Awards They Won and what They Were Nominated For. The most popular in the band Brothers Angus and Malcolm Young saw AC/DC on their sister, Margret's, sewing machine. 'AC/DC' stands for "Alternating Current/Direct Current". They thought it would be a wonderful name, smybolizing the raw passion and energy put into the band's every performance. AC/DC was formed in December, 1973, in Australia, by guitarist Malcolm Young, whom had just left his last band, Velvet Underground. Malcolm saw his brother George reach the top of his goals to be a rock star and was a member at the time with the popular band "The easy beats''. So Malcolm wanted to follow George's footsteps. So he knew that his younger brother Angus Younge was very talented on the guitarso he put his brother in his band as lead guitarist, Why the band is called AC/DC and what it means. Angus Young is the most popular in the band and the reasoning behind that is because him and his brother were the ones that had formed the band in 1973 and Angus is still in the band today. He's also popular for wearing his old school uniform. AC/DC and what their music style was. AC/DC played Hard Rock, Blues Rock, and Rock 'n' Roll. As said before AC/DC is a very accomplished band and throughout each and every replacement they still managed to stay together for 40 years. They have made many new albums but their latest one was Black Ice which was released in 2008. AC/DC had a total of 18 Studio albums, 6 live albums, 1 EP, 46 singles, 12 video albums, and 2 box sets on the charts. They were and still are an accomplished band today. The songs and albums AC/DC had on the chart. They had 18 concert tours. Many of which were in North America, Asia, South America, Oceania , and Europe. Their most recent tour was the Black Ice World Tour that lasted 3 years world wide from 2008 to 2010. How long AC/DC have braved the world together as a band. AC/DC did not really have a idol that jumpstarted their band, but they did got a start by listening to different styles of music and experiencing different, beautiful songs. As said before AC/DC is a very accomplished band and throughout each and every replacement they still managed to stay together for 40 years. They are still together today and their latest album was Black Ice. Today they are one of the most best grossing bands of all time. Conclusion AC/DC has won a total of 12 awards and they have been nominated for awards twice as many times they have been nominated 24 times. They were nominated for the American Music Awards 1 time, they won the ARIA Music Awards 6 times and nominated for them 8 times, they won a Grammy Award 1 time and they were nominated 7 times, they were nominated for the MTV music awards 1 time, and they won the rock on request award 1 time and they were nominated for it 1 time.
