Grid Work & Basic Shapes
Step 1
Now let's add to the shapes:
What shapes do you see?
Every good artist starts with basic shapes.
Step 4
Even humans have basic shapes!
Let's start with the basics
Bellwork: In your art journal please draw these three objects:
Use a ruler to draw and make sure the shapes are spaced apart evenly on the page.
It's a lot like where's waldo... but with shapes!
I need 3 volunteers
How to grid & create basic shapes
Step 1. select picture you want to draw.
Step 2. Start gridding by putting lines down the middle of the picture
Do the EXACT same thing to your plain paper.
Now split your boxes in half evenly.
Do the EXACT same thing to your plain paper.
It's the most important thing to have them THE SAME!
Now split up your picture into basic shapes.
Now SLOWLY draw the basic shapes onto your paper.
DRAW LIGHTLY!!!!
DRAW LIGHTLY!!!!
USE YOUR GRID TO GUIDE YOUR SHAPES
If it's easy...draw box by box
Then SLOWLY go back and add details...don't erase any lines yet!
After ALL of the details are completed THAN you can erase your lines.
THE FINAL PIECE WHEN YOU'RE DONE!
