*TAP lightly on the shoulder or back.

*WAVE your hand UP/DOWN keeping appropriate distance,
never
directly in their face.


Pounding on a wooden surface such as a desk or floor is appropriate; it gives off the best
vibrations

Either ADJUST your position OR ask the person to move by PRESSING their shoulder in the direction that clears your view.

This is usually used to get the attention of a GROUP
You can always use an INTERMEDIARY to TAP or WAVE to the person you need to move or get attention from.
When managing the signing environment
WHEN GOING THROUGH 2 PEOPLE SIGNING SAY "EXCUSE-ME", THEN GO ON THROUGH.
Waving appropriately near a person's face is O.k.

Tapping a person's shoulder, back or knee is appropriate

Pounding the floor or table is fine.
Wooden surfaces work best.
Throwing objects at another person is NEVER apropriate
Waving close to another person's face is NOT ok
Flashing the lights is a good strategy
