Transcript of Islam
The most concise definition of God our creater in Islam is given in the four verses of Surah Ikhlas which is Chapter 112 of the Qur’an:
"Say: He is Allah, The One and Only.
"Allah, the Eternal, Absolute.
"He begets not, nor is He begotten.
And there is none like unto Him."
Islam is a Semitic religion, which has over one billion adherents all over the world. Islam means "submission to the will of God". Muslims accept the Qur’an, as the word of God revealed to His last and final prophet, Mohammed (peace be upon him). Islam states that Allah sent messengers and prophets throughout the ages with the message of Unity of God, and accountability in the Hereafter. Islam thus makes it an article of faith to believe in all the earlier prophets, starting with Adam, and continuing with Noah, Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David, John and Jesus amongst many others (may peace be on them all).
why the word "Allah" ?
if you add ‘s’ to the word God, it becomes ‘Gods’, that is the plural of God. Allah is one and singular, there is no plural of Allah. If you add ‘dess’ to the word God, it becomes ‘Goddess’ that is a female God. There is nothing like male Allah or female Allah. Allah has no gender
Why should we believe in Islam ?
To understand this we must use your common sense and intellect
The universe had a
Science has discovered that the universe is expanding and if we were to reverse this expansion, the universe would shrink down to
nothing at all. Scientists do not know what was before the Big Bang, however one thing they do agree upon is that the universe is not eternal and had a beginning.
How did the universe come
Did it come from nothing?
From nothing, nothing comes. For example,
if you heard a loud bang, you would never
assume it just came from nothing. Or would a pink elephant just pop out from nothing into
your living room? Obviously not! So the universe could not have just come out of nothing.
Did it create itself?
This is irrational because that would require it to be in existence and non-existence at the same time. It is like saying a mother gave birth to herself!
Or does it have a creator?
This is the most logical and rational conclusion.
Is the creator the same or different from creation?
Can we have an infinite chain of creators?
Imagine you are in a car park and you hear an echo saying “HELLO...
HELLO... HELLO.” Would you assume that this echo is eternal? You
wouldn’t because you know it must have started somewhere. In the
same way, we cannot have an infinite chain of creators, because it must
have started somewhere by a creator that is uncreated.
The order in the creation is evidence of God’s oneness. This is because more than one creator would cause chaos within the creation. For example, if there
are two CEOs of a company, they will both disagree on decisions, which will bring the company into chaos. When we look at the stories of the ancient Greek gods, they would often go into war with each other. However, as the universe is in order, this is evidence that the creator is one.
it is evident to see that the nature of the creator is different from the
creation. The creator has the power and ability to put this universe
into existence, including all of the intricate laws, systems and planets.
Whereas we as humans cannot even create a fly
However, if the creator is within the
creation, this would mean that we
have more creation! No, you wouldn’t!
The creator would need a creator,
and then the creator of the creator
would also need a creator. And you
would end up with an infinite chain
As the creator has created us and provided food, clothing and oxygen, would it not make sense that He also provides for our spiritual needs,
offers us guidance and explains the purpose of our creation?
As the creator, God knows us best and is therefore best placed to guide us on how to function optimally. It is a bit like when you buy a mobile phone with a manual describing its functions. The Quran is therefore a handbook, from the Creator to the created, and is not something written by man.

The creator chose prophets to announce the presence of the creator and to be an example for how we should live our lives. All the prophets including Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Mohammad, peace be upon them
all, had the same message.

Salaah is prayers, that are performed five times a day. Each salaah is performed facing towards the Kaba. Salaah is compulsory on all Muslims. Prayers help Muslims communicate and worship Allah.
Zakaat is charity given to the poor and needy. Zakat means "purification." Each Muslim calculates his or her own zakah individually.
Saum is fasting in the 9th month of the Islamic calendar. It is an obligatory act for all adults and children from the age of 10
Hajj is to visit the Kabah, in Mecca during the Islamic month of Zul – Hijjah. It is Sunnah for all Muslims who are sane to perform Hajj at least once in their lifetime.*

Allah has promised those of you who believe and do right actions that He will make them successors in the land, as He made those before them successors, and will firmly establish for them their religion with which He is pleased and give them, in place of their fear, security, [for] they worship Me, not associating anything with Me. Any who disbelieve after that, such people are deviators. (

To reduce the gap between the rich and the poor, Islam encourages trade, discourages the hoarding of wealth and outlaws usury (the term is riba in Arabic). Therefore wealth is taxed through zakat, but trade is not taxed. Profit sharing and venture capital where the lender is also exposed to risk are acceptable.Hoarding of food for speculation is also discouraged Grabbing other people's land is also prohibited

There is nothing in Islam that forbids a Muslim woman from exiting her house and is allowed to drive.
regards to education, a woman is obligated to seek knowledge and it is considered a sin if she refuses.
Al- Quran 6:151
“…take not life, which God hath made sacred, except by way of justice and law: thus doth He command you, that ye may learn wisdom.”
Al- Quran 5:32
“…if any one slew a person - unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land - it would be as if he slew the whole people: and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people.”
Al- Quran 5:8
"And do not let ill-will towards any folk incite you so that you swerve from dealing justly. Be just; that is nearest to heedfulness"
Al- Quran 16:90
God commands justice and doing good and giving to relatives. And He forbids indecency and doing wrong and tyranny. He warns you so that hopefully you will pay heed.
Al- Quran 5:2
"Do not let your hatred of a people incite you to aggression."

Islam comes from the root word ‘salaam’, which means peace. It also means submitting one’s will to Almighty God. Thus Islam is a religion of peace, which is acquired by submitting one’s will to the will of the Supreme Creator, Allah (swt).
The Muslims ruled India for about a thousand years. These Muslim rulers did not use any force in order to convert people to Islam. Today more than 80% of the population of India consists of non-Muslims. All these non-Muslim Indians are testimony today that Islam was not spread by the sword, nor was any force used for conversion to Islam.
Indonesia is a country that has the maximum number of Muslims in the world. The majority of people in Malaysia are Muslims. May one ask, “Which Muslim army went to Indonesia and Malaysia?”
With which sword was Islam spread? Even if Muslims had it they could not use it to spread Islam because the Qur’an says in the following verse: “Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from error” [Al-Qur’an 2:256]
It is the
sword of intellect
. The sword that conquers the hearts and minds of people. The Qur’an says in Surah Nahl, chapter 16 verse 125: “Invite (all) to the way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious.” [Al-Qur’an 16:125]

The belief that the Sun is stationary was widespread amongst astronomers until the 20th century. It is now a well-established scientific fact that the Sun is not stationary, but is moving in an orbit around the centre of our Milky Way galaxy
IT IS HE WHO CREATED NIGHT AND
DAY, THE SUN AND THE MOON,
EACH FLOATING IN ITS ORBIT.
It is commonly thought that waves only occur on the surface of the ocean.
However, oceanographers have discovered that there are internal waves that take place below the surface of the ocean.
These waves are invisible to the human eye, and can only be detected by specialist equipment
A human being can dive no more than 70 metres without breathing equipment
Light is present at that
depth, but if we go down 1,000 metres it is completely dark

mentions darkness in a deep ocean above which are waves,
above which are waves, then clouds above that. This description is not
only remarkable because it describes the internal waves in the ocean,
but also because it describes darkness deep in the ocean.
years ago, there were no
submarines or specialist equipment
to discover internal waves or the darkness deep inside the oceans.
God tells the people who reject his message that when they
are in Hell and their skins are burnt off (so they can’t feel any
pain), he will give them new skins so that they continue to feel
the pain. The Quran makes it clear that pain is dependent upon
the skin. The discovery of pain receptors in the skin is a fairly
recent discovery for biology
For a long time it was thought that the sense of feeling and pain was dependent on the
brain. However, it has been discovered that there are
pain receptors present in the skin . Without these pain receptors, a person
would not be able to feel pain.
WE SHALL SEND THOSE WHO
REJECT OUR REVELATIONS TO
THE (HELL) FIRE. WHEN THEIR
SKINS HAVE BEEN BURNED AWAY,
WE SHALL REPLACE THEM WITH
NEW ONES SO THAT THEY MAY
CONTINUE TO FEEL THE PAIN: GOD
IS ALMIGHTY, ALL-WISE. [4:56]
Islamic tradition holds that God sent messengers to every nation. Muslims believe that God finally sent Muhammad to transmit the message of the Quran, the holy book which, according to Islam, is universal in its message. The reason the Muslims believe the Quran is universal and will remain uncorrupted is because they believe that previous Islamic holy books, namely the Torah given to Moses, the Psalms given to David, and the Gospel given to Jesus, were for a particular time and community and because they believe that, even if the books were corrupted, many prophets were still to come who could tell the people of what was correct in the scripture and warn them of corruptions. Muhammad therefore, being the last prophet, was vouchsafed a book which, in Muslim belief, will remain in its true form till the Last Day.
But does not evolution disprove God?
No it does not. In fact, it does not even come into the discussion because we have been talking about how the universe came into existence. Evolution does not give
answers to how the universe itself came into existence.
“We said: Get down all of you from this place (the Paradise), then whenever there comes to you guidance from Me, and whoever follows My guidance, there shall be no fear on them, nor shall they grieve.”[
The above verse refers to Adam and Eve (upon whom be peace). It asserts that they were sent from paradise to earth and implies that they were both fully formed and created before coming to earth. This literal and orthodox interpretation of the verse is in direct conflict with science. The theory of evolution asserts that human beings were formed via natural selection and random mutations on earth over long period of time. The theory of evolution also argues that human have a shared ancestry with non-human species. One attempt to reconcile the theory of evolution and the orthodox interpretation of the Qur’an is to accept evolution for non-humans and to claim that the creation of Adam was a miracle.
There is so much evil and suffering in the world so how can God exist?
just because you may perceive something as evil
or suffering does not mean that it actually is. For example,
if a man stabbed babies with needles, you would perceive
him as evil and that the baby is suffering. However, a doctor
may need to give injections to babies to save their lives. In
the same way, God tests us so we turn to Him and if we get
closer to God we get rewarded in the hereafter.
