"At Tom Purdue, there are theses steps out front. One second she's walking down them and the next she's flying head first towards me"
James, Naomi's friend, tells the doctor exactly what happened that caused her head injury.
I chose this passage because it tells you what happened to Naomi and why she has a head injury.
It is significant to the novel because it helps you know what is going to happen later on in the novel.
It reveals the authors style of mystery because it makes the reader curious and it makes the reader want to read more.

Driver's Ed
By: Caroline B. Cooney
The book that I am reading is Drivers Ed by Caroline B. Cooney. So far, what I have read in my book has happened in my life. I haven't been in a drivers ed class yet, but i do know what it is like to drive with a permit. Sometimes driving can be very scary, especially when there isn't enough room to merge. In the book a student is saying to another student who is driving,
"Get in! Get in! There's a space! You're gonna kill us!" I can relate to that because when I started merging, I got yelled at a lot.
Drivers Ed
My book is about a group of teenagers who are in a drivers ed class together. The group of teens make a bad decision and don't know how to handle it. I am hoping to get a lot out of this book. I expect to learn some things that kids face while driving. I think i will learn about how to deal with situations while driving.
One of the characters in my book is Remy. She is a very loud, and fun individual who loves to drive. Anytime the teacher asks someone to drive, she volunteers because she is not afraid. My opinion of Remy is that she is a nice girl who seems fun to be around. Remy likes to get things done. For example, with driving. Remy loves to drive so much. In the book it says,
"Remy Marland crossed her fingers and prayed to the God of Driver Education that she would get to drive today." That just goes to show that she loves what she does. I think Remy would be a very good friend.
I am similar to one of the characters in the story, Remy. Remy loves to drive and so do I. Remy and i are similar because anytime we get the chance to drive, we take it. We both also beg our parents. to let us drive. We both also hate merging. In the book it says,
"Remy Marland crossed her fingers and prayed to the God of Driver Education that she would get to drive today." That proves that she loves to drive and so do I.
My opinion about the actions of certian characters in the story is that they are all interesting characters. Remy loves to drive and I love to learn about her because she has a really bubbly spirit. There is another character named Christine. She is not a big fan of driving and she prays that he doesn't have to. In the book it says,
"Christine prayed not to drive today or ever." I feel like her actions are not good because she needs to get over her fear.
I selected this book, Drivers Ed, because I was curious to see why the book was banned. I found out while I was reading that the book was banned because the characters in the book vandalized a stop sigm, and stole it. I expected to get out of reading why the characters did what they did and to see how and when they got caught.
If I were an English Teacher, I would like to share my book with my students. I would share this book with them because it teaches you some things that are wrong. I would let my students know that it is not ok to steal things, especially road signs because someone could easily get in a wreck, just like what happened in the story. The group of kids stole the stop sign and caused someone to get in a wreck.
