Don’t be a sitting duck!

Welcome to New Student Orientation!
‘F’ and ‘D’ grades and withdrawals require you to repeat the course and negatively affect your GPA. Stay above that 2.0!

Third attempts at repeating a course cost 3x’s regular tuition charges: $353 vs $1119.

Make sure you only take courses that pertain to your program, attend classes regularly, and stay on track for graduation (before 150% mark).

Financial aid eligibility for future semesters is impacted by all of the above. Keep track of your credits attempted vs. credits earned (67% rule)!

Make High-Valued Decisions because..
You can opt-out of:
PERT placement testing
College preparatory courses

You can opt-into:

Regarding Sexual Misconduct: Broward College is committed to creating a safe educational environment for all students, faculty, and staff. Sexual misconduct of any kind, including, but not limited to, sexual violence, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, sexual harassment, or retaliation for reporting such offenses, will not be tolerated.
Sexual misconduct also applies in instances where consent cannot be given (e.g. student’s age, or use of drugs or alcohol, or other disability). Students are afforded protections from sexual misconduct, and any hostile education environment resulting from such misconduct, regardless of the sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity of either the alleged perpetrator or complainant, including when both are members of the same sex.
Students should see the Dean of Students if they have a concern.
