Languages
Native Americans spoke many different languages. A few are Navajo ,Zuni, Central Alaskan Yup'ik,Keres,Western Apache,Cherokee but there are many many more.
Homes
There are a variey of different types of homes Native Americas lived in. The most well known are wigwams,longhouses,teepees, chickees,Adobe houses, igloos,grass houses, wattle houses and daub houses.

How they got food
Native Americans got most of their food by hunting and fishing. Every Native American tribe we know of hunted and fished. One of the most important ( and well known )crops that the Native Americans grew was Indian corn. They also grew things like beans,squash,pumpkin,potatoes and tomatoes.

Ingredients: cinnamon,1/3 cup of water
1 cup pounded corn and honey
Directions: First,pound hard corn,pour in water and sprinkle cinnamon.Next,add small amount of honey, make a patty cake,melt butter in pan.Lastly,cook until
brown then let it cool and pour honey.

Education
Early Native American children did not go to school,instead they followed their parents and were taught to do chores. Girls learned to do jobs like making baskets,cooking and working in the fields while boys were being taught yo hunt,fish and do other men chores.

Punishment
Early European tribes were surprised by the way Native American children were punished. When Native American kids disobeyed they were seldom struck or "spanked". Punishments usually involved teasing and shame in front of others in the tribe however, children who obeyed were honored and praised in front of the tribe.

Children become adults when they go through a rite of passage ceremony. After that they are expected to act like adults. The ages may vary. There are different ceremonies for
