Transcript of Getting to Know Me

This is
Me
.
This is a Drawingof Me
This is Me Juggling
This is my Wife disapproving of my Juggling
Mr.
Holschuh
(it's like an entire
shoe
)
I have a
dog
.
I have a
cat
.
oh
I also have a
wife
.
They are all
pretty great

I went to school here.
And
studied
this guy

...sort of
I
actually
studied all of this
And I came out of it with a degree called
ENGLISH
but...why would I study
English
?

I mean, what can we learn from
L
iterature?

Well, as it turns out...
Lots.
Practical
Ideal
True
We live in a
TEXTUAL
world
We communicate through
WRITING
Email
Texts
Online
More
often
than not
The
First Impression
you leave
Will be something you
WRITE
Business
needs communicators
Communities
Need
Communicators
Writing is
Communication
You will
learn to
WRITE
Clearly
Effectively
Pursuasively
Literature
TEACHES
us
About
People Places
and
Situations
We otherwise wouldn't have
access
to
Literature
Enriches
Us
Literature
Changes
Us
Who are
We?
And how should we
live
?
Imagine Each other
Complexly
To
Share
and Understand the
Common
Feelings
Of All
Mankind
Feelings of Being
Alive
This one is Tricky
Humans are obsessed with Stories
So, then
...why?
and storytelling
Philosophers have asked WHY
Movies
Books
Poems
ART
For as Long as They've Asked About the Meaning of Life
Thinkers have long suspected
That we can't know anything TRUE
That we only understand the world through LANGUAGE
There is nothing inherently
Tree-Like about
TREES
And a
ROSE
by any other name smells just as
sweet
These are just
Words
And a
Word
can never fully describe the
THING
Since the world is always filtered through Words
And Words can never embody Truth
We learn Truth through Art
We can never understand the World as it IS
How can we know anything True about the world?
Through
Stories, and Poems, and Paintings, and
1 million other art forms
That's why we're
obsessed
(not my actual cat)
