"A Comparative study on the efficacy of Orange and Banana Pe
Transcript of "A Comparative study on the efficacy of Orange and Banana Pe
Oranges are an important food source in many parts of the world for several reasons. They are a commonly available source of vitamin C. The juice is a refreshing drink. They last longer than many other fruits when they are stored. They are easy to transport because each orange comes in its own tough skin which acts as a container. They can be piled into heaps or carried in bags, lunchboxes and shipping containers without being easily damaged.
Statement of the Problem
The study aims to produce alternative candles through the use of orange and banana peelings. Specifically, the study aims to:
* Present a candle to people that will last longer than the commercialized one.
* Produce an environmental candle that will last reduce the waste in the community.
* A candle that is less- cost.
In which of the kitchen waste, Banana peelings and Orange peelings, is the best alternative for commercialized candle in terms of its texture and longevity?
The Banana Peelings doesn’t have a significant difference to the commercialized candle in terms of its longevity and texture.
The Orange Peelings doesn’t have a significant difference to the commercialized candle in terms of its longevity and texture.
(specifically, the sweet orange) is the fruit of the citrus species Citrus sinensis in the family Rutaceae. The fruit of the Citrus sinensis is called sweet orange to distinguish it from that of the Citrus aurantium, the bitter orange. The orange is a hybrid, possibly between pomelo (Citrus maxima) and mandarin (Citrus reticulata), cultivated since ancient times.
is an edible fruit produced by several kinds of large herbaceous flowering plants in the genus Musa. (In some countries, bananas used for cooking may be called plantains.) The fruit is variable in size, color and firmness, but is usually elongated and curved, with soft flesh rich in starchcovered with a rind which may be green, yellow, red, purple, or brown when ripe. The fruits grow in clusters hanging from the top of the plant.
The Banana Peelings showed a significant difference to the commercialized candle in terms of its longevity and texture.
The Orange Peelings showed a significant difference to the commercialized candle in terms of its longevity and texture.
Significance of the Study
Nowadays, people just throw every waste they have without knowing its benefit to them. Peelings are one of the wastes that are usable in many ways just like in school, community and future researchers.
The group let students create their own useful product with the use of their knowledge and using kitchen waste. In this way, students will be able to learn and provide other things aside from commercialized candle.
B. Future Researchers
For the future researchers the study may be used to help them apply the value of stewardship. This product is an environment- friendly because we used the orange peelings in- making the candle. It can also help the researchers not to spend much money in conducting the said experiment. It also give them an idea about the experiment to help make further development.
For the community it will help the environment because of recycling. It will lessen the wastes in their community that could help the environment to enhance it.
