The Practical Blessings of Justification
Transcript of The Practical Blessings of Justification
The Basics of Suffering
Suffering is Always from Sin
Paul has in view all suffering.
The suffering we all generally will experience, the suffering we experience from our own sin, and the suffering that is the result of others sins against us.
“20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now.”
Jesus Identifies with our Suffering
There is no suffering you are experiencing this morning that the Word does not speak into, that the Word does not rule over, and that Christ Himself does not empathize, show compassion, and bring truth to bear upon.
All Suffer . . . Especially Believers
We can view the sufferings for Christ as an express part of His plan to show the validity of His followers and the fidelity of our faith.
“and you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.”
Knowing Right So We Respond Right
The Truth of Endurance
The Truth of Character
The Truth of Hope
The first truth we must know by faith is that suffering in the life of the Believer is going to mature, purify, and strengthen your faith.
The second truth is that God wants to show the strength of true faith by revealing it as though by fire.
The third truth is that God wants to increase and grow our confidence that He has justified us, made us at peace, given us access into grace, and will rescue us one day.
Shouts of Love
1 Peter 2:7-8
“7 So the honor is for you who believe, but for those who do not believe, “The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,” 8 and “A stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense.”
"But if I, brothers, still preach circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been removed."
“Pain insists upon being attended to. God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our consciences, but shouts in our pains. It is his megaphone to rouse a deaf world.”
