Gratitude Defined
the state of being grateful;
warm and friendly feeling toward a benefactor; kindness awakened by a favor undeserved; thankfulness and an inclination to return kindness.

Standards of Gratitude
When we were younger, our parents instilled values in all of us,including thankfulness. As we grow older, it gets easier and easier to ignore that little voice in our head that tells us to say a simple "Thank you"
Gratitude is supposed to be common sense.
Unfortunately...
“Common sense is not so common.”
~ Philosopher Voltaire

Tagline: Ungrateful on Christmas

“One ungrateful person, does an injury to all needy people.”
~Publilius Syrus

But wait...

There's Hope
“Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all the others.”
- Marcus Tullius Cicero a Roman philosopher
It's time to Meet the Parent Virtue: Gratitude
“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”
John F. Kennedy

“Gratitude changes the pangs of memory into a tranquil joy.”
Dietrich Bonhoeffer

“Joy is the simplest form of gratitude.”
Karl Barth

“Silent gratitude isn't much use to anyone.” ~G.B. Stern
