BASIC CONCEPT
Transforming Malaysia’s construction industries to another level in terms of productivity and performance as well as maintaining a good image to society driven by technologically-pervasive,
creative and cohesive construction
community.
CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY MASTER PLAN (CIMP) 2006-2015
The CIMP was the 10 years construction preparation or plan and policies.
OBJECTIVE OF POLICIES
To develop a comprehensive set of performance measures for the construction industry.
To overcome the problem or difficulty faced in the construction industry such as quality deficiencies, numerous ensuing social and health problems, and the low productivity of construction industry.
To compute these measures for the 2006 base year and to benchmark the available data
GOVERNMENT INITIATIVE
Monetary Policy
Transformation of the government's socio-economic policy into public and monetary by the infrastructure building.
Fiscal Policy
Used by government as an instrument to control economics and to support monetary policy.
Integrate the construction industry value chain to enhance productivity and efficiency
Strengthen the construction industry image
Strive for the highest standard of quality, occupational safety and health and environmental practices
Develop human resources capabilities and capacities in the construction industry
Innovate through research and development and adopt new construction methods
Leverage on information and communication technology in the construction industry
Benefit from globalization including the export of construction products and services
GOVERNMENT POLICY
Important role in generating wealth and improving the quality of life for Malaysians.
Creates a multiplier effects to other industries.
For future direction of the industry towards becoming a world-class, innovate and knowledgeable country.

Integrate the construction industry value chain to enhance productivity and efficiency

Improvement in requires an intelligent partnering approach between industry players from the public and private sectors.

Two (2) Main Recommendations to Drive Productivity and Efficiency
Improve the productivity of the construction
If new methods and new materials are able to provide cost-effective solutions, they shall contribute to the competitiveness of the local construction industry and to the economy as these will result in productivity increase.

To highlight strategies for Malaysian construction industry professionals to implement
Demonstrate and showcase R&D outputs
Enhance R&D collaboration and partnerships
The use of taxation and government expenditure
Increase in government expenditure which raise level of economic activities
