Transcript of Faire causatif

Faire causatif How is it used? Have someone do something for you Make someone do something for you Cause something to be done I had a dress made for my daughter. J'ai fait faire une robe pour ma fille. I make the students work. Je fais travailler les étudiants. I will make my children think. J'e ferai réfléchir mes enfants. Reflexive faire (conjugated) + infinitive Se faire + infinitif the action is being done for oneself (by someone else) She had a dress made for herself. Elle s'est fait faire une robe. The action is being done by someone else for oneself, but since the gender and number of the person/people doing the action is undefined, agreement of the past participle is null, even though the verb "être"is used as the auxiliary in the passé composé. If the subject of the sentence were completing the action, you would not use the reflexive and the auxiliary would be "avoir".
