Transcript of Lucid Dreaming

Lucid Dreaming Types of Lucid Dreaming Dream-Initiated Lucid Dream is very rare and happens by accident. In the middle of your dream you realize your dreaming and begin to control what happens. Wake-Initiated Lucid Dream is initiated when you are awake. These types of dreams are associated with people with narcolepsy or sleep paralysis Mnemonic-Initiated Lucid Dream is a deliberate and controlled lucid dream. This is the most desired form of lucid dreaming Imagine waking up in your dreams with the ability to do anything, meet anyone, go anywhere... and all in vivid detail with your five senses fully alive. It is an exhilarating experience where all your dreams vividly come true.
“You can become the director in your very own grey matter powered action-adventure, you can battle monsters and bad guys, and you can get the girl or meet the tall dark stranger. There’s no limit to where your wondrous mind can take you in a lucid dream” (Clemens). the act of being aware you are dreaming and controlling what happens in the dream Lucid dreaming is most commonly used to stop recurring traumatic nightmares. This way you can control your dream and make the out come different. If you are being chased you can dream up a black hole for the chaser to fall in. Lucid dreaming occurs while you are in R.E.M sleep. This is where most of your dreams occur Many news stations have blamed the shooting in Tucson on the fact the Jared Loughner is a lucid dreamer. That he could not tell reality from a dream. Nightmares or night terrors effect many peoples sleep cycles and everyday life. If you are woken up every night by a night terror, then you are not getting enough sleep to be fully energized for the next day. Through lucid dreaming you can stop these night terrors or recurring nightmares. There is no limit as to what you can do to change your nightmares. But there is a definite difference between reality and dreaming. If Loughner had been an avid lucid dreamer he would have known the difference between the two. His mental illness has a more prominent role in the shooting than lucid dreaming does. Not all lucid dreams are useful but they all have a sense of wonder about them. If you must sleep through a third of your life, why should you sleep through your dreams, too?” (Steven Laberge).
