Companionship
in
Islam
Al Wadud

- One who
loves
without needing any love in return.
"I was a hidden treasure; I
loved
to be known. Hence I created the world so that I would be
known
."

Hadith Qudsi
He Created us out of Love
He -IS- Love
"And they
give
food
out of love for Him
to the poor and the orphan and the captive. [They tell them:]we only feed you
for God's sake
: we desire from you neither reward nor thanks."
Holy Quran 76:8+9
"Indeed those who
believed
and
did good deeds
– the Most Gracious will appoint
love
for them."
The Holy Quran 19:96
What He will do for us...
"People are all God's family, so the
dearest
people to Him are those who benefit His family the most."
Holy Prophet, Hemyari, 1417 A.H., p.56
"...O My angels! O Residents of My Heavens, verily, I have not created the erected Sky, the stretched earth, the illuminated moon, the bright sun, the rotating planets, the flowing seas and the sailing ships, but for the
love of these Five
underneath the cloak."
How to
attain Allah's love?
(O Messenger!) Tell people: 'If you indeed
love
Allah,
follow me
, and
Allah will love you
and will forgive you your sins. Allah is
All-Forgiving, All-Compassionate.'
Holy Quran 3:31
Hadith Al Kisa
Love and Follow Ahlul Bayt
Act – out of love for Him
Buddist, Hindu, Jews
and Christians believe in monastic celibacy to achieve spiritual elevation and enlightenment. Marriage is considered a barrier to this and negative
Prophet Mohammed (SAW) showed us how to achieve greatness in spirituality and character through living within society and marriage not being a barrier to spirituality and closeness to Allah
"We certainly created man in the
best
of forms; then We relegated him to the
lowest of the low
, except those who have
faith
and
do righteous deeds
. There will be an everlasting reward for them."
Holy Quran 95.6
Attaining Spirituality
Spirituality vs Desires
Mankind is not meant to have entered this world solely in order to eat, drink, sleep, seek pleasure or act lustfully, and then to die and be destroyed. The status of man is higher than such deeds. Human beings are meant to train themselves and their souls by gaining knowledge, committing good deeds, and behaving with good manners. Man is meant to take steps along the straight path to achieve nearness to Almighty Allah.

Life
holds no meaning,
and is a shallow existence. Eventually, ignoring spiritual needs will have vacuum within that manifests itself in compulsive behaviour or illness or continual deviation from human nature.
(infidelity, friends with benefits, pick up culture, gender confusion,
pedophilia,
etc.)

Living without faith in Allah swt, and following desires
Allah
The closer you become
to each other,
the closer you are to Allah
The Ideal Marriage
"There is
no better
structure in Islam that can be built,
than marriage
."
Holy Prophet
'Two Rak'ats (units) of a married person's Salat (prayer) are
better
than seventy Rak'ats offered by a bachelor'.
Imam as-Sadiq (a.s.)Ibid, p 6
Best Position
Higher Spirituality
“Give spouses to your single ones, because Allah makes their
morality better
and
expands their sustenance

and
increases their generosity
."
Better morals, sustenance and generosity
Holy Prophet Nawadir al Rawandi, p. 36
“One who marries, has already guarded
half of his religion
, therefore he should fear Allah for the other half.”

Holy Prophet, Wasa’il ul-Shi’a, Vol. 14, p. 5
“…They are a
cover
for you, and you, a
cover
for them..."
Holy Quran 2:187
Helping each other on straight path
Team work – fill in each other's flaws
"Whoever chooses to follow my tradition must
get married
and
produce offspring
and
increase
Muslims, so that on the Day of Resurrection, I shall confront other nations with the
great numbers
of my Ummah."

"You shall
encourage
those of you who are single to get married. They may marry the righteous among your male and female servants, if they are poor. God will
enrich
them from His grace. God is Bounteous, Knower." 24:32

Improve community and population
Holy Prophet
Holy Quran 24:32
Love vs Lust
Status of Marriage
The Gains of Marriage
The Miracle of Marriage
"Among His
miracles
is that He created for you spouses
from among yourselves
, in order to have
tranquility
and
contentment
with each other, and He placed in your hearts
love
and
care
towards your spouses. In this, there are sufficient proofs for people who think."
Holy Quran 30:21
In Dunia
"Enter Paradise,
you
and
your wives
in happiness."
Holy Quran 43:70
In Jenna
"The Ever-lasting Gardens which
they
shall
enter
and so shall the righteous from among their
parents
, and their
spouses
, and their
offspring
. And angels shall enter unto them from every gate, and say: "Peace be upon you. You merit this reward for your steadfastness. How excellent is the ultimate abode!"
Holy Quran 13:23+24
Destiny? Soulmate? Qisma?
O Rasool! proclaim to the entire mankind "The truth has come from your Rabb, whosoever chooses may accept it and whosoever chooses may reject it..
“Say: ‘Nothing shall ever happen to us except what Allaah has ordained for us. He is our Mawlaa (Lord, Helper and Protector).’ And in Allaah let the believers put their trust”.
Holy Quran 9:51
Holy Quran 18:29
Our deeds
could enable
bad opportunities
Our deeds

good opportunities
Some opportunities are defined by Allah swt and to His knowledge alone

good
for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is
bad
for you. And Allah
Knows
, while
you know not.
"
Holy Quran 2:216
