Domínguez was born May 14, 1950 in Ourense, Galicia, which is located in northern Spain. He also has stores worldwide(Guatemala, The United Kingdom, most are in Europe).
Domínguez became a designer because it was the main profession his family practiced. His father owned a fashion botique, and one of his daughter, Tiziana Domínguez, is also a fashion designer who is currently the director of Adolfo's company.
Domínguez's target market includes young and adult men and women. His clothing designs came in a fresh approach towards Spanish luxury fashion appealed to many people in Europe and the rest of the world. Countries with demand for Adolfo's products, order through online when there isn't a store found.
In the 1970s, in his 20s, Dominguez became the successor of his father's botique in Ourense. This was the first step to Adolfo's fashion career. While there, he spent the following years developing his own unique designs. Then he took a big risk and presented his work in Madrid in 1981. Adolfo became the first Spanish designer to ever open his own brand-named shop.
Urban necessities were the inspirations of Dominguez's clothing designs. He uses loose and natural fabrics to make very down-to-earth looks. Not only does he designs clothing but also, he makes cologne and perfume for both men and women. His current clothing line is for the autumn/winter season named the "Fall|Winter 2014" collection.
