Welcome to Royal Holloway Libraries
Bedford Library
Founder's Library
Enter Bedford Library on level 2
When are our libraries open?
On level 2 you can work in groups.
You can also book group study rooms.

You can purchase hot and cold drinks and cold food in the cafe. Hot food is not allowed in the Library, and you must recycle your rubbish using the bins provided.
Printers, photocopiers, and scanners are on Level 2.
Remember to top up your Printing account.

Laptop Support
Drop in clinic for laptop & mobile device support - no appointment needed.

Support offered:

assistance with the installation of college applications, e.g. Kaspersky Anti-virus, SPSS, printing software, etc.
network connection to CampusNet/CampusAnywhere
assistance with virus removal
College email account connection
General diagnostics

Book study rooms online:

Short Loan books can be borrowed between:
11.00-16.00 or 16.00-11.00(next day)
You can borrow up to 3 at any one time.
(Not available to external users)

Holds are shelved in the short loan collection of the library.
When you receive the email saying your book (hold) is ready for collection it will contain a collection reference number which the hold is labelled with.
You can issue your book using the self-service machine, also in the short loan area.
If all copies of an item you need are on loan to other readers, you can place a hold and we will notify you by e-mail when it becomes available. You can place holds on books on Libary search :

How do I find books?

You can search by Author, Title or Keyword in Library Search:
Make a note of the shelf location so you can find the book on the shelves:

Don't forget to look at the Due Date
to see if it is available.
If it isn't available place a hold.
You can take out and return books using our self issue machines.
There are PCs on Level 1 and 2 of the library
You can use the PCs in the library to:

Surf the Internet
We have a large collection of Ebooks which are available on line both on campus
and off.
Can I look at books online?
Level 3 is strictly silent. If you want to talk please go to Level 2.

Undergraduate students can borrow up to 15 items (including 3 Short Loans/DVDs).

Short Loan
Wireless is available throughout the building
Level 1 book collection
Level 2 book collection
Level 3 book collection
Each level has library catalogues. Use these to search for books.
Enter Founder's on the ground floor
You can borrow DVDs for 24 hours.

There are individual silent study spaces in Founder's on the first floor. Please respect others and keep noise to a minimum in these areas.

The Archives and Special Collections
The College Archives and Special Collections are on the 3rd floor of Founder's Library. More details including opening hours here:
You can keep books for:

Normal loans = 3 weeks
One week loans = 1 week
Three day loans = 3 days

There are 7 study rooms in Bedford Library.
You can also email library@rhul.ac.uk
The Library enquiry desk runs from:
11am - 5pm Monday - Friday - come to the Helpdesk and ask for a librarian.
