Transcript of Songs of the Outsiders

Beat it I think the song Beat it by Michael Jackson perfectly describes the big rumble between the greasers and the rival gang nearing the end of the story. In the Ghetto By Jayden Walker Songs of the Ousiders Tears in Heaven The song tears in heaven was written and performed by Eric Clapton. The song was written in memory of a lost loved one so I think it's appropriate for describing the emotions Ponyboy feels after loosing his parents in a car accident. Dance with my Father Again Again this song is to do with loosing a parent, a father in particular. This song is written and performed by Luther Vandross. It describes good times spent with his father before he departed. Which no doubt Ponyboy would have had with his late father. The song in the ghetto was performed by Elvis Presley. One of the verses in it describes perfectly the hardships of growing up as a greaser. Mad World The song Mad world by Gary Jules would be an appropriate song to play as johnny is dyeing at the end of the story. Vincent I think that the song Vincent by Don Mclean describes Ponyboy well. It speaks of a misunderstood person who dreams a lot who gets hurt often because of it. Imagine In the outsiders ponyboy talks of maybe one day peace and harmony, no more quarrels between the Soc's and the Greasers, no division among them. I think a good song relating to that is the song imagine by John Lennon. It speaks of issues being forgotten and world peace which i thought relates to what ponyboy was thinking. My hero In chapter 6 of the outsiders Ponyboy, Johnny and Dally all run into a burning church to save school children, making them heroes. The song My hero by the Foo Fighters is a perfect match for the situation. Want you back In the seventh chapter Sodapop tells Ponyboy of how his girlfriend got pregnant and fleed to Florida with her parents. No doubt he would be sad and would want her back, so i think the song Want you back by the Jackson 5 best describes how sodapop would be feeling at the time. I'll be Missing you In chapter 10 of the outsiders, Johnny sadly dies. Being his best-friend, Ponyboy goes through an extremely rough time. For this situation I chose the song I'll be missing you by P Diddy because it's also about losing a friend. Lyrics My thoughts, Big, I just can’t define (can’t define)
Wish I could turn back the hands of time
Us in the six, shop for new clothes and kicks
You and me takin’ flicks
Makin’ hits, stages they receive you on
