Transcript of The Book Theif

Jesse Owens was born on September 12, 1913 in Oakville, Alabama, U.S. He was an amazing track and field athlete who set the record in the running broad jump which was also called the long jump. During the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, he stood tall and proud because he won four gold medals. During the Olympics, Adolph Hitler refused to watch an African American man win all theses metals and especially not shake his hand. An Accordion is a small portable free-reed wind instrument with an keyboard. The sound is produced by a thin metal ribbon, a reed, which is held at opposites end of each other. A man named Cyrill Femian in Vienna invented the first basic accordion in 1829. It only had five buttons and each button could play two chords. Based off the idea of the accordion, was the harmonic, which was invented in 1821 by Buschmann. The only problem with this idea was that you couldn’t sing and play the harmonica at the same time. The accordion is often used in folk music in Europe, North America, and South American. It can be played solo or in an orchestra performance of classical music. The accordion is an very unique instrument.
