At age 20 Walt experienced bankrupcy after his failure of a cartoon series in Kansas city.

Walt Disney's animation business really took off when he created a character who is now the symbol of Disney. That character is Mickey Mouse. One of Walt Disney's greatest movies was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs released in 1937, Fantasia a 1940 film, Sleeping Beauty a 1959 film, Pinocchio a 1940 film and Bambi a 1942 film. Walt created more than 81feature films and hundreds of cartoon shorts. He earned more than 950 honors including 48 Academy Awards. Also he founded the California Institute of Arts and he built Disney Land!!!!! He built the rides, the buildings everything. His struggles in his family life and childhood sparked the idea of Disney Land because he wanted family's to have fun together and enjoy eachothers company. Instead family's going through what he had to experience with his brothers spliting up and abandoning him.

Kingdom Hearts
Disney teamed up with the creators of final fantasy to produce kingdom hearts. Charters from final fantasy were combined with Disney movies.
Walter Elias was born December 5, 1901. He was one of five children.
At a very early age, he made money by drawing and painting and selling his art to neighbors and friends. He quickly became very talented.
Did you know Mickey Mouse was not Walt Disney's first ever character? In 1921 and 1922 Disney made laugh-o-gram films. The characters were a girl, boy, a dog, and a cat. Alice Comedies were made in 1924-1927 starred a live action girl Alice and her cat named Julius on adventures. Walt made 50 Alice shorts between the years 1923 and 1927, the first short film was not released until 1924 and 40 out of the 50 films are known to exist. After Alice Comedies between 1927 and 1928 Disney made 26 animated black and white silent short movies starring a rabbit named Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. The first short movie was released September, 5th 1927. 85 years ago in 1928 the big floppy black eared rabbit Oswald became what is well known today Mickey Mouse. The first two short films grew no attention but the short film "Steamboat Willie" was the first animated film to have music and sound affect. Walt Disneys characters from the past are still important and help make Disney what it is today.
Walter attended McKinley High School in Chicago, where he took drawing and photography classes and was a contributing cartoonist for the school paper. At night, he took courses at the Chicago Art Institute.
But he dropped out at age 16
Walt Disney took commonly known fairy tales such as Cinderella or Snow White, animated them and made them more family friendly. They've created thousands of movies and have essentially created there own empire. Using mickey mouse and his friends Disney has dominated child animation. Disney has also recently purchased Lucas Films, the creator of star wars.
In 1919, he moved back to Kansas City and drew cartoons for the newspaper.
After meeting cartoonist Ubbe Iwerks, he began to work on animated commercials
As time went on as he began to work with a camera, doing hand-drawn cell animations. He then decided to open his own animation business.
Disneyland Park, originally Disneyland, is the first of two theme parks built at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, opened on July 17, 1955. It is the only theme park designed and built under the direct supervision of Walt Disney. Disney land has had over 650 million guests wake through its gates since it opened.
He hired many employees and began his work. He named this company "Laugh-O-Grams". His first production was "Alice in Cartoon land" which was over seven minutes long.
But by 1923, Walt was declared bankrupt.
Trying again, they relocated to California. Walt, his brother Roy, and Iwerks began the Disney Brother's Studio. Starting at $1,500 each, they created the first Disney character; Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.
Walt Disney World opened in 1971 in Lake Buena Vista Florida. It is the most visited attraction in the world. With 52.2 million guests and 30,000 plus acres of land it's 24 themed resorts 4 theme parks and 2 water parks help the Walt Disney Company to obtain a net worth of 103.96 Billion$ according to Forbes. Walt Disney World continues to expand and attracts tourists from around the world.
Disney soon after married Lillian Bound, who was an ink and paint artist.
Experimental Prototype City of Tomorrow
In 1955, Walt's $17 million amusement park finally
opened; Disneyland.
After the theme park's success unleashed tenfold, Walt started to plan for a new theme park. Unfortunately, in 1966, he was diagnosed with lung cancer and died at the age of 65.
"EPCOT will take its cue from the new ideas and new technologies that are now emerging from the creative centers of American industry. It will be a community of tomorrow that will never be completed, but will always be introducing, and testing, and demonstrating new materials and new systems. And EPCOT will always be a showcase to the world of the ingenuity and imagination of American free enterprise." WALT DISNEY
His brother Roy carried his legacy after his death and continued his operation. The theme park opened in 1971; Walt Disney World.
Walt designed EPCOT to be an actually community. Shaped like a circle living areas would surrounded the city with businesses in the center. He wanted people movers to be the primary mode of transportation which can actually be seen today at EPCOT. Walt died before any construction began. The company did not want to create a city without Walt's guidance so they made a theme park instead. Inside Epcot the World showcase can be found. It allows guests to expericeance the food culture and history of countries like; Mexico, Norway, China, Italy, Germany Japan France Morroco and others.
That Walt did the original voice of Mickey mouse?
Disney Cruise Line
The last thing Walt ever said or wrote before his death was the name of actor Kurt Russel, which remains a mystery to many still to this day.
Disney Cruise Line currently operates four ships: Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, and Disney Fantasy. They own there own Private island called Castaway Cay.
Walt Came up with the idea of
Disney Land when he would bring
his daughters to carnivals. He wanted
to create a place where both parents
and children could enjoy the rides
