Transcript of MY CURATION ENGINE

Opening up the information pipeline

Staccato
Set up Filters & Boundaries.
"Separate signals from noise"
Look for clarity.
Multi-device News reader where I can aggregate all the websites and blogs I want to follow. Easy to use and categorise items.
Social Media dashboard. Helps me monitor hashtags (up to 10).

Also useful for Twitter chats
(integrated link shrinker / mentions)
Chaos
Surrender : immerse myself into a specific topic, depending on
my needs/intuitions.
I try to
make sense
and
connect the dots
of what I have been seeking and reading.

Pocket bookmarklet.
Possibility to read off-line.
Another news reader - I use it mainly to go through my Twitter feeds - i.e. my own lists or the lists I have subscribed to.

Reader friendly / magazine-style design.
Flipboard
Still useful... even in the 21st century!
Diigo
Social bookmarking solution = "My library". Easy to create tags, lists and annotate what I want to keep for further references.

That's also where I try to centralise notes I am taking from my print readings (i.e. books, magazines...), and crystallise some ideas.

I can choose to make each item public/private.
Pinterest
Useful for visuals (i.e. pictures, graphs, infographics).
Reservoir of metaphors to illustrate ideas and concepts.
