Past continuous
Lets talk about the past continuous
Use the Past Continuous to indicate that a longer action in the past was interrupted.

Remember we can use
Verbs in the Past
to talk about

not longer continue in the present.
Interrupted Action in the Past
e.g: While we were having the picnic, it started to rain.

Specific Time as an Interruption

Expresses the idea that two actions were happening at the same time:
To make a negative add "not"
