Transcript of Stress

Physical Preparation
Everyone at some stage in there life will be stressed and it can come from many factors
Hormones such as; Adrenaline and cortisol which trigger fight or flight response.
Fight or flight is an instinctive response to a threatening situation which prepares you to resist or run
What happens when a blood vessel in the brain bursts?
Like smoking the blood becomes sticky, what is sticky?
Sugars and fats in the blood, they are released by the liver to the muscles more energy and power for fight or flight
Stress is also linked with;
stomach ulcers
Within the public services what stress might come?
What makes us stressed?
Signs of stress;
These symptoms occur as there is an increase in our nervous system, as it response to stress by releasing hormones
These hormones stimulate the heart to beat faster and redirect blood to the brain, heart and muscles
This increases the blood pressure, which can lead to the heart and blood vessels under stress
Whats the problem with this?
Post traumatic stress disorder
It is a sever anxiety disorder that can develop If someone experiences a stressful or traumatic event
Ways to deal with stress
Try and tackle what is causing stress
Change the way you react to stress, i.e do exercise or maybe meditation
Another way is to try and be more assertive
