BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
General Problem
What are the ways to improve the management of the Pila, Laguna Public Cemetery in terms of mapping the location of the tombs and providing information about the corpse?

1. What are the difficulties encountered by the relative of the deceased in Pila Public Cemetery in terms of:
a. finding the grave of their departed loved ones
b. finding a place to entomb for their departed loved ones
2. What are the problems in managing the records and documents of the deceased in Pila, Laguna Public Cemetery?
3. What are the means to organize the management Pila, Laguna Public Cemetery?

RESEARCH OBJECTIVES
GENERAL OBJECTIVES
The general purpose of this study is to improve the management of the Pila, Laguna Public Cemetery in terms of mapping the location of the tombs and providing information of the deceased using Cemetery Mapping and Information System of Pila, Laguna Public Cemetery.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

1. Develop a mapping system that will help the relative of the deceased in Pila, Laguna Public Cemetery in terms of finding:
a. the grave of their departed loved ones
b. a place to entomb for their departed loved ones.
2. Keep track records and documents of the deceased in Pila, Laguna Public Cemetery.
3. Organize the management of Pila, Laguna Public Cemetery.

- Will be operated at Municipal Treasury Office of the Municipality of Pila
- Will add, view and update deceased records on map
- Store records on a database
- Will be administrated by Municipal Treasury Office employees
- Programming language used: PHP for the front end, and mySQL for the back end
- Text editor: Sublime Text Editor
Tool used to create the map: Adobe Photoshop CS3 and Adobe Fireworks CS3

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES
The study of Dian (2004), Mahmoud (2010), Crawford (2012), Patel (2012) and Teodoro (2013) are related to the study Cemetery Mapping and Information System of Pila, Laguna Public Cemetery in terms of locating a specific place.
The study of Honrade (2013), Torres (2006) and Campos (2009) are similarly related to the study Cemetery Mapping and Information System of Pila, Laguna Public Cemetery in terms of locating a specific place and giving paths toward the chosen place.
The study of Caranto (2013) Online Database and Mapping System of 7-eleven Stores in the Philippines is also related to the study Cemetery Mapping and Information System of Pila, Laguna Public Cemetery in terms of locating a place and also in handling information on a database.
