Investment Decision Given Data A linear programming model will be developed to determine the number of temporary employees that Davis should hire each month, under each contract while minimizing the total cost. Workforce assignment problems frequently occur when production managers must make decisions involving staffing requirements for a given planning period

Workforce assignments often have some flexibility, and at least some personnel can be assigned to more than one department or work center. Discussion in the Context of QBA Constraints Recommendation We can see that the cost of hiring 10 full-time employees in January is $313,192.
From our previous calculations, we know that the cost of hiring temporary employees is $313,525.
Therefore, we conclude that hiring 10 full-time is $333 less expensive than hiring temporary employees.
In this situation, we recommend that, in order to minimize costs, Davis Instruments hire 10 full-time employees in January and the rest should be hired as temporary employees. Node Diagram
