the first chinese person to come to Australia was moon chow in 1829 and it wasn't until 1847 another 51 chinese came to Australia. the first reason that the chinese came to Australia was because cheap labour then they came for the gold rush and the jobs.
Europe
The region that the most people came from to migrate in Australia was Europe. the europeans came to Australia because of the gold rush the land and because Australia had the white australian policy.
Japan
Most of the japanese came to Australia because the capital offense for japanese to leave japan.the japanese came and mostly all of them either worked as a pearler or in a sugar cane industry.

Moon Chow
Moon Chow arrived in 1829 and he was the first recorded Chinese to arrive in the colony. He settled in Fremantle and became a respected carpenter and boat builder. He married Mary Thorpe (age 18) in 1847. Moon's death in 1877 resulted in vehicular speed limits and compulsory.

in the modern world, hundreds of thousands of people come to Australia every year to live and have a better life but around 150 years ago only around 180,000 people came to Australia every year. most of these people were either yellow or black. the yellows and blacks came for a couple of reasons. these are some reasons why.
pacific islands
the pacific islanders came to Australia for the jobs and they thought it would be a better place. then in the early 1800's Australia experienced a gold rush so even more pacific islanders came.
