What is design?

to form or conceive in the mind
a scheme of attack
to intend for a definite purpose
an adaptation of means to ends
an outline, sketch or plan. Design Tools:

What are the implications for you as teachers when working with students in the design process?
Google Sketch Up
1.Draw a flat shape, using pencil or object tool
2.Rotate, change colour and texture
3. Pull, push into a 3D shape
4. Investigate other tools (such as orbit, eyes etc) to create other shapes & dimensions.
5. Be creative!
Scratch
1. Make your own sprite
2. Make it move in at least two different directions.
3. Attach sound at appropriate times
