Food Chains
A food chain shows how energy passes from one living thing to another.

The energy in a food chains begins with the sun's energy.
Habitats
A habitat is the place where a plant or animal lives.

A habitat can be:
- hot or cold
- wet or dry

Plants and animals can only live in habitats that meet their needs.
Life Cycles
The way a living thing grows and changes is called its
LIFE CYCLE

is an animal that catches and eats another animal.
PREY
is an animal that is caught and eaten.

Wooded Areas/Forests
- Bears, foxes, deer, squirrels, and many other kinds of animals live here.

Parks
- Bees, butterflies, birds

Lakes:
- Turtles, insects, raccoons, snakes

Beaches:
- Sand crabs, fish, sea birds

Butterfly Life Cycle
