player.He played for the Detroit Red
Wings,the Los Angelos Kings and the
New York Rangers. Sidney Crosby is a young talented
hockey player who at age of 23 has
already won a Stanley Cup,an Olympic
gold medal and a WJHC. So far he has
played only for the Pittsburg Penguins. Jean Beliveau played in the NHL for 20
seasons, all of which were with the Montreal
Canadians. He was the captain of the team for
almost all the years he played. He won the Stanley
Cup an outstanding 10 times! Steve Yzerman is considered to be one of the best players in Red Wings history (along with Gordie Howe). He played with the Detroit Red Wings for
his whole 23 season career.
Maurice "the rocket" Richard played
his whole 18 year with the Montreal
Canadians. He was the first person ever to score 50 goals in 50 games
and now has a trophy named after him,
it is given to the person that scores the most goals in the regular season. He won the Stanley Cup 8 times and captained his team to 4 straight from
1957-1960. Alexander Ovechkin is a young skillful
player who has played his whole career
so far with the Washington Capitals. He
was named captain this year and will definately be a dominant force in the NHL for many years to come. Nicknamed " Mr.Hockey" Gordie Howe
is the only player in history to ever play in 5 different decades. He played in 25 seasons and all were with the Detroit Red Wings. He has won the Stanley Cup 4 times,the Art Ross and the Hart trophies each 6 times. Mario Lemeux played his whole 17
year career with the Pittsburg
Penguins.He battled cancer and missed 3 years of hockey.He retired but after he beat his cancer he returned to the game. He was an extremely fast skater and an unbelievable play maker.
He was sick many times and has had spinal disc herniation,
chronic tendanitis and back pain so bad other people had to tie his skates.Despite all this he won the Stanley Cup twice, 3 Hart Trophies, 6 Art Ross Trophies and 2 Conn Smythe Trophies, Bobby Orr is considered to be the best defencemen ever and by Don Cherry, the best player ever. He always liked to rush the puck which resulted in him winning the Norris Trophy a record 8 times, the Conn Smyth Trophy twice, 3 Hart Trophies and 2 Art Ross Trophies. He won the Stanley Cup 2 times as well. He played his last 2 seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks and the other 10 with the Boston Bruins. He is called "The Great One". Widely known as one of or the best hockey player of all time Wayne Gretzky. He scored over 200 points in a single season 4 times and is the only player to do so. He has won 9 Hart Trophies, 10 Art Ross Trophies, 5 Lady Bing Trophies, 5 Lester B. Pearson Trophies and 2 Conn Smythe Trophies. He has won the Stanley Cup 4 times. His # 99 was retired league wide so no one in the NHL can ever wear #99 again. In his 20 season career he played for the Edmonton Oilers,the Los Angelos Kings,the St. Louis Blues and the New York Rangers. Information was found on Wikepedia
