Who is a mandated reporter?
"An administrator or employee of a public or private organization whose duties require direct contact and supervision of children" -CA Penal Code
Should we even follow this law?
Failure to report is misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in county jail and/or up to a $1000 fine
He or she may also be found civilly liable for damages, especially if the child-victim or another child is further victimized because of the failure to report
