A DIFFERENT APPROACH
First.. What does it mean to be impulsive?
It means... you have difficulty resisting urges or delaying behavior!
Poor Boundaries
Reactionary "First Thought Wrong"! Obsessive-Compulsive Behaviors... etc.


Did not finish school, perhaps you got kicked out of school, couldn't focus, bad grades...

Unhealthy Relationships
Codependent Relationships
Were you ever unfaithful, were you a yeller, quick to assume and personalize????
RELATIONSHIPS??
WORK-RELATED???
Loss of Job, Problems with Bosses and Co-workers...
EDUCATIONAL?
Acting and reacting less
impulsively is a SKILL that you
CAN learn and use to avoid
painful consequences
and to get the outcomes you desire!

Acting less impulsive impulsively involves two components:
1. Being able to observe your own behavior.
2. Developing Self-Management Skills...

Exercise: Choose a situation where you acted impulsively (recently or some time ago), Describe the event in the following format.
What Happened First?
Then What?
What Next?
Next?
Next and so on to it's conclusion of your situation.
