COSMETIC PROCEDURES PREFORMED 2011. HOW IN THIS GENERATION GO UNDER THE KNIFE RATHER THAN BE WHO YOU ARE. THE INCREASE OF COSMETIC LOW SELF ESTEEM. SURGICAL AND NONSURGICAL THERE WERE OVER 9 MILLION IN THE UNITED STATES IN IT IS MORE ACCEPTABLE TO PROCEDURES IS CLOSLY RELATED TO THE RISING RATE OF O F S O U R C E S When gathering
sources I depended
on the internet greatly.
The internet offered plenty
of documents relevant to beauty
in this current generation. The selection of my secondary sources consisted of mainly books suggested by school librarian, Judith Reid. I heavily relied on documentaries such as,
Teens at Risk, Wasting Away. Just the Facts. Eating Disorders By Caroline Warbrick What's Real, What's Ideal:
Overcoming a Negative Body Image By Brangien Davis THESE RECOMMENDATIONS WERE: These books offered a limited
amount of information; however the
information I gathered, provided me
with a basic foundation to understanding
the pressure which is created from the
standard of beauty nowadays. HOW DID I E V A L U A T E MY SOURCES ? 1

conclusion that I wanted to display what
I viewed to be the most intriguing negative repercussions of the unrealistic portrayal of B E A U T Y Considering the fact that I could not add data into my art work I had to creatively corporate my sources with my art work, which was a challenge. Abuse of weight loss pills

Anorexia THESE REPERCUSSIONS WERE: HOW IN THIS
CURRENT GENERATION
EVEN CHILDREN ARE BEING
EXPOSED TO PRESSURE TO BE T H I N. 51% OF 9 AND 10 YEAR-OLD GIRLS FEEL BETTER ABOUT
THEMSELVES IF THEY ARE ON A DIET Over 1/2 of teenage girls and nearly 1/3 of teenage boys use

control behaviors such as skipping meals, fasting, smoking cigarettes, vomiting, and taking laxatives unhealthy weight OVER 1/2 OF TEENAGE GIRLS AND NEARLY 1/3 OF TEENAGE BOYS USE UNHEALTHY WEIGHT CONTROL BEHAVIORS SUCH AS SKIPPING MEALS, VOMITING, SMOKING CIGARETTES, TAKING LAXATIVES, AND FASTING. IT IS ESTIMATED THAT 11% OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH
AN EATING DISORDER. INCREASING AT AN ALARMING RATE. HOW IN THIS CURRENT
GENERATION THE
RATE OF ANOREXIA IS I APPLIED MY SOURCES BY
USING IMAGERY CLOSELY RELATED
AND THEN OVER EXAGGERATING THE IMAGE. FOR EXAMPLE: USING A SKELETON TO REPRESENT ANOREXIA. This project has educated me along the way about the importance of dedication and perseverance. Personally I have improved on taking responsibility for any goal that I set for myself. I am honestly a procrastinator; however this project made me see the enormous disadvantages of not being constant while working. Inquirers I have develop skills that are necessary to formulate a question and properly act upon selecting appropriate sources to acquire knowledge on the subject. Knowledgeable Through out this project I explored the concept of beauty in this current generation and how the unrealistic standard of ones physical appearance has negative repercussions, locally and globally Risk-Taker During the course of reaching my goal I was faced with unfamiliar situations. With the skill of independence, I explored and overcame these obstacles. One of these obstacles was to create this video. I had the bare minimum of information to create a multimedia project; however I was able to achieve my goal. T H A N K Y O U F O R WATCHING . WHAT DROVE MY CURIOSITY MY CURIOSITY ? Personally I have improved on taking responsibility goals that I set for myself. From multiple interviews concerning what the viewers thought of my artwork I concluded that the viewers were affected by my gallery. The majority of the viewer stated that they after observing my art they thought upon the subject of beauty and the negative aspect that are involved T H A N K Y O U
