By: Chloe, Kate and Cody The Camera and the Human Eye Camera vs Human Eye Differences Different range of visible colors.
The camera perceives the landscape as flat and motionless. The eye and the brain see the landscape with full motion and depth.
The eye cannot change its zoom or perspective without moving your position.
The camera only has one lens while the eye has two.
A camera only allows the light to be captured for a specific amount of time, creating a static image, while the eye is constantly receiving light and creating a continuous image. Similarities Both the eye and camera have the same basic tools to capture images.
Both receive light and turn it into pictures.
Both are able to change the focus of their subject

Light enters the eye at the Cornea, which refracts the light further into the eye.

The Iris and Pupil of the eye change how much light enters the eye depending on the brightness. The Eye Cont. The Camera Cont. The crystal lens of the eye changes the focal distance of the light rays.

A focal distance that does not match up correctly with the retina causes your vision to be blurry depending on your distance from the object. This is what causes Near/Farsightedness

The Retina changes the light into electrical impulses that are sent to the brain and are interpreted as vision. Light hits the subject, which enters the lens of the camera.

The amount of light that enters the lens (and the exposure of the photo) depends on the aperture of the camera. The aperture is the opening of the lens, and can be adjusted to let more or less light in the lens.

The light is focused using a series of lenses and mirrors. These move in order to put the picture into focus.

The light hits a mirror which reflects the light into a pentaprism and into your eye. To take a picture, the shutter opens and the light hits the DIS. The shutter closes and the picture has been taken.
How long the shutter is open is called the shutter speed.
Depending on the lens that is used, the camera can have different amounts of zoom.
The amount of zoom depends on the focal length of the lens
Different lenses serve different purposes.
