What is the purpose of a
pre production document? 201 - Pre Production Documents Storyboards Spider Diagrams Mind Maps A pre-production document is used to plan, visualize, share and understand a project. Mood Boards Visualization Diagram Mind Maps are a very popular form of pre production documents. They can be used for planning events and projects, as you can use as many subtopics as you want. It includes a main title in the center, and subtopics coming off the main topics. Spider diagrams are mainly used for planning (eg an article or story) or creating and provoking ideas. Spider diagrams are not the same thing as mind maps but they can be just as useful in some ways as an idea organiser or an alternative note taking method. A mood board is a tool used by designers to help them get a good idea of what their clients are looking for. Mood boards are basically collages of items such as photographs, sketches, clippings, fabric swatches and color samples. A mood board can be actual or virtual. A mood board is used by many different types of designers such as those in fashion and interior design. A visualization diagram is a blueprint or diagram showing plans for something. This can be a new building, a renovation or a decoration. Architects mainly use visualisation diagrams to show clients how their predicted building will look and how big/much it will be. It includes mesurements, views from different angles and prices. A storyboard is a collection of images, ordered chronologically like a comic. They are used in films, particulary animation, and other time related plans. They include a small piece of writing for every image and show what will happen.
