How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages? The different techniques we used to construct our trailer and ancillary tasks We used a variety of different methods to construct our film trailer. Using Premier Elements and Photoshop and obtaining music off free play music.com We first had to film using panasonic SDR cameras to capture all the different shots and scenes. Then came the editing which we did in a Premiere Elements program which enabled us to be able to use dissolve techniques, experiment with the sound and the lighting Adobe photoshop was used for the trailer and to make the poster and film magazine. This is where we made the Art Productions and United Pictures logos Magazine Cover Head Over Heels Construction Research and Planning Evaluation For the magazine we had to super impose a blue tinted background and cut out a picture of the actors. We aligned the writing on the sides and for the main title UKF we imposed a picture of the British Flag to give the magazine a representation of Britishness. Film Poster For the film poster we super imposed a light blue background on with a picture of the main characters in a position which represents the different feelings between them. We had to change the lighting contrast as well to work with the background. For the evaluation I used different technological methods to show the way we made the trailer and ancillary tasks and how we went about planning them. Also what I used to make my evaluation itself. I used three by threes to research different key shots in trailers and for the storyboard we took adavatange of the apple cartoon app to give it a higher quality. For the shooting script we used microsoft word and took the location shots with a high quality Sony camera to emphasise the place and the feeling We obtained pictures of film posters off Google Images and analysed them and broke them down to work out the codes and conventions of a film poster I wanted to make it easy in my evaluation for the reader to understand clearly and be able to access the information easily that I was trying to represent I used a three by three to show the different film shots we used thus showing how dynamic we had made our film trailer and how we stuck or did not stick to the usual codes and conventions A director's commentary is very good for putting across to the viewer where the thoughts and ideas came from and so I used it here with examples to back myself up. With screenshots I was able to give more examples of what I was talking about to make it easier for the viewer to understand. I utilised a Prezi as it is fairly new technology and is extremly useful for presenting the information in a more dynamic and interactive way. A great deal of facts and pictures can be put here for the viewer to access which made it a great tool for presenting my evaluation. For our magazine cover we kept to the codes and conventions of normal film magazines by having the name in big bold font at the top. The flag in it helps it to stand out. We were able to have the flag inside by manipulating the layers on photoshop. We embossed the titles to make them look more real and easier to read. The writing is alligned down the side by using the ruler tool and all of this is what you would expect to see on a normal film magazine and it all stands out. The super imposed blue background emphasises everything else.
