Principle Frequency Intensity Time Type How Often How Hard What Kind How Long Moderate to vigorous Style of exercise: Aerobic, Anaerobic, Muscular, or Cardiovascular No less than 30 minutes 5 days a week Improve or maintain a good fitness level Helps to develop a fitness plan, workout or routine S- specific M- Measurable A- Attainable R- Realistic T- Time Your goal statement states WHAT you plan to do, WHY you will do this and HOW you will achieve this goal. Can you measure your success with short term benchmarks and a whole goal ending? Do you have the skills you need to attain your goal? Do you need to learn a new skill and/or ask for help? Is your goal “do able” and/or really possible? What type of reward can you enjoy? What is the timetable for your goal. Do you have a place to record your benchmarks? I plan to train for a half marathon, to be completed by the end of this year, to continue building cardiovascular endurance and continuing personal fitness
