Debbi Fields was born in Oakland, California in 1956.
At the age of 19, she married Randy Fields, the inspiration for her company name, Mrs. Field's.
She was one of the first people hired by the Oakland A's to retrieve grounded foul baseballs for the team. She used this money to save up for her cookie ingredients.

In 2007, they baked over ten million chocolate chip cookies. That is one cookie for every single resident of the states of South Carolina and Tennessee!
