All About the Author
Ron Darvin is a PhD student and Vanier Scholar in the Department of Language and Literacy Education, University of British Columbia.
Applying a new model of language learning that locates intersection of identity, capital, and ideology, he proposes new ways learners in the 21st century can invest in more autonomous learning and claim the right to speak.
Characters
Isabel
- a 41 year old woman, former teacher, former wife to Roberto and a mother to Miguel who went abroad to look for a job that would support her family.
Miguel - a 15 year old boy who is the son of Roberto and Isabel.
Roberto - a man who is also around in his 40s, former husband of Isabel.
