The war brought about a lot of economic effects and some of these are as follows:
1. Britain was put in massive debts.
2. Rationing started to occur.
3. Destruction by bombing created a need for massive house building after the war.
4. Destruction of factories/machines thereby loosing some of its productive capacity.
Britain's role in World War 2
The Second World War began in September 1939 and ended in May 1945.
The war started when Germany invaded Poland which led to a retaliation from England and France.
By the end of September in 1940, the major power players of World War 2 had divided into two groups: the Allies, including England, France, Poland, and the U.S., and the Axis powers, comprised of Germany, Italy, Japan and Russia.

Britain's Entry into the War
After Germany invaded Poland on 1st of September 1939, both England and France told Hitler to stop the Invasion
On refusal, Prime Minister Chamberlain declared war on Germany.
In 1940, Britain fought and prevented the Axis Nations from partially taking over Europe.
During the invasion, the English royal navy blocked off the U-boats of Germany.
Planes that could go against the Luftwaffe were created by Britain.
Britain helped in the strategies during the war.
Britain's Contribution to the War
Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain resigned on the 10th of May 1940 as a result of pressure and was replaced by Winston Churchill as Prime Minister.
Chamberlain then served under Churchill as the Lord President of the Council.
The war also brought about a lot of social effects and some of these are as follows;
1.) There was a time called the “era of the affluent society”
2.) There was a scarcity of maids and servants
3.) The great family ties that Britain was popular for so much were broken
