THE ACC The Atlantic Coast conference makes up 12 different schools and teams all located along the east coast. These smaller communities all come together to make up a lager community known as the ACC Conference. Each team has individual goals and values, but ultimately share a similar goal of winning an ACC Championship. The Swimming and Diving ACC Conference meet is one where the competitive spirit of these schools come together to try and achieve this ultimate goal of being an ACC Champion. Boston College Located in Chestnut Hill, Mass. This community is home to 14,500 students. Mens swimming and diving placed 10th at ACC's in 2010. Womens swimming placed 11th. Clemson Located in Clemson, South Carolina. This community is home to 17,165 students. Mens swimming and diving placed 7th at ACCs in 2010. Womens swimming placed 8th. Duke Located in Durham, North Carolina. Home to 6,247 students. Mens and Womens Swimming and diving both placed 6th at ACCs in 2010. Values: "The mission of Boston college is rooted in its integrity of the academic and the religious, a coherence of the divine and the human..." Values: "Clemson University's athletic program strives to be a source of pride for the citizens of the state of S.C. and to be recognized as a nationally prominent program, through consistently high levels of performance and accomplishment in athletic competitions." Values: "Duke University believes that its participation in division 1 athletics provides educational value for its students. Duke University values the character traits athletics promotes to personal development and success in later life. These include the drive to take one’s talents to the highest level of performance; embracing the discipline needed to reach high standards; learning to work with others as a team in pursuit of a common goal; and adherence to codes of fairness and respect." Florida State Located in Tallahasse, Fl. Home to 38,886 students. Mens and womens swimming and diving both placed 3rd at ACCs in 2010. Maryland Located in College Park, Maryland. This community is home to 35,329 students. Mens Swimming and diving placed 8th at ACCs in 2010. Womens swimming and diving placed 4th. Miami Located in Coral Gables, Fl. Home to 15,520 students. Mens swimming and diving placed 11th at ACCs in 2010. Womens swimming and diving placed 10th. North Carolina Located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Home to 26,878 students. Mens and womens swimming and diving both placed 2nd at ACCs in 2010. NC State Located in Raleigh, NC. Home to 29,957 students Mens swimming and diving placed 9th at ACCs in 2010. Women placed 7th. Virginia Tech Located in Blacksburg, Va. Home to 28,000 students. Mens swimming and diving placed 4th at ACCs in 2010. Womens swimming and diving placed 5th. Virginia Located in Charlottesville, Va. Home to 20,399 students. Both Mens and womens swimming and diving were ACC Champions in 2010. Georgia Tech Located in Atlanta, Ga. Home to 19,393 students. Mens swimming and diving placed 5th at ACCs in 2010. The women placed 9th. ACCs for swimming and diving will be held here next year.
