Night by: Elie Wiesel Who is Elie Wiesel?? Born: September 30th, 1928 in Romania

The community he lived in was predominantly Jewish community since 1640 . His life and his family's lives dramatically changed in 1943-1944. Elie and his family were sent to the concentration camps in Poland, called Auschwitz His mother, father and three sisters were all transported to Poland. Elie and his two older sisters were the only ones that survived from his family. He remained silent about the events that took place at the concentration camp, until he wrote the book Night ten years after he survived.
