A timeline of computers
Interview of my mom's computer history
So in conclusion, I think that technology and computers have advanced a lot. In the future, I think that computers would be able to acces a lot more programs and would be more advanced, have more memory and be faster.
Introduction to Computer History
This is the link to my timeline
Difference Engine 1- 1822
Difference Engine 2- 1847
First HP- 1939
The 2nd Generation of Computers
8 Inch Floppy Disk-1968
Magnetic Tape-1962
Punch Cards- 1957
LINC- 1968
This engine was created in 1822, and was used to calculate sums. Sadly, it never got published because it failed, but soon later a Difference Engine 2 was made.
The History of Technology

The difference engine 2 was the same as Difference Engine 1 but was more complicated. But it never got published either (because it failed again). After Babbage died, there was no technology for 90 years.
After 90 years, the first sign of computers was a HP computer. After this was built, Disney started using it to make movies. This shows that computer programming was improved a lot after 90 years.
The Colossus was used to break codes when the Nazis were taking over England. This machine was top secret for 50 years and took a long time to make, which was was worth it because in the end, England shrtened the war by a few years.
The Z3 was the first properly working computer and was also the first technology that could perform statistical analysis. Again, it was a big leap from the last piece of technology because now we can analyse things not only follow orders and read programs.
The FORTRAN was used for computer programming. The name came from 2 words-Formula, Translation. It was a very useful piece of equipment because it was very helpful for making different programs work.
Punch cards could help a computer acess information and help the computer remember things. The information would be punched in so then the computer would be able to read it.
Now, we are entering the second generation of computer history, where computers are a lot more advanced, faster and efficient.
The magnetic tape was invented to record things this was the first recorder. It could record all sorts of noises and then i could repeat the recorded noises back to you.
LINC was used for data procesing, It could precoss data that was very big and could read computer programming. This was another big leap for technology.
This was the first floppy disk invented: it was used for portable storage so if you saved a file ontp the floppy disk, when it was put into another computer, it would be able to be opened again.
The Micral was a mini computer and could do process information, but still, it wasnt able to access the internet. The Micral was also a series of small programs put together.
The computers started off with the Difference Engine. It was created by Charles Babbage and it was used for calculations.
It was the first computer programming shown. This presentation is about the history of computers.
iPhone 1- 2007
This was the first smartphone invented by Apple, its very smart because technology is now able to fit into such a small compartment, and is also touchscreen.
The Internet -1973
The internet is invented, now people are able to access different sorts of information without going to the library, people can also have a lot of social media.
