THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION THE RIDE OF PAUL REVERE APRIL 18, 1775 MINUTEMEN *THE ELITE MEMBERS OF THE MILITIA LEXINGTON APRIL 19, 1775 FORT TICONDEROGA MAY 10, 1775 *HE WAS A NORMAL MAN, A SILVERSMITH *HE WAS VERY ANTI-BRITAIN AND DID A MIDNIGHT RIDE TO WARN OF THE BR COMING *ALSO WAS AN ILLUSTRATOR *ONE IF BY LAND, TWO IF BY SEA *THEY COULD BE CALLED ON AT ANY MOMENT AND USUALLY WERE UNDER 25 *HIGHLY MOBILE AND ABLE TO ASSEMBLE VERY QUICKLY *ROUGHLY 1/4 OF THE MILITIA *FIRST TO BE CALLED FOR DUTY *THE BR WERE COMING TO CAPTURE SAM ADAMS AND JOHN HANCOCK IN LEXINGTON *THEY WANTED GUNPOWDER & WEAPONS FROM CONCORD *THE PLAN WAS RUINED BECAUSE OF THE WARNING THE COLONISTS RECEIVED FROM PAUL REVERE AND OTHERS... ...BECAUSE THEY WERE WARNED THE MINUTEMEN GATHERED AND PREPARED FOR THE BR *70 MINUTEMEN WERE WAITING ON THE GRASS AT LEXINGTON FOR THE 240 BR SOLDIERS *WHEN BOTH SIDES WERE FACING EACHOTHER, A GUN WENT OFF AND A BULLET WAS SHOT *ETHAN ALLEN AND THE GREEN MOUNTAIN BOYS *WORKED WITH BENEDICT ARNOLD *THE MILITIA BADLY NEEDED ARTILLERY TO BE ABLE TO FIGHT THE BR *COMPLETELY SURPRISED THE BR IN THE FORT BATTLE OF BUNKER HILL JUNE 17, 1775 *ALWAYS LISTEN TO DIRECTIONS... *ENDED UP AT BREED'S HILL...EVEN CLOSER TO THE BR *THEY WERE LOCATED ON A HILL, LOOKING DOWN ON THE BR *THE BR COULD HAVE SURROUNDED THEM WITH ALL OF THEIR SHIPS...BUT DECIDED TO CHARGE UPHILL *"DONT FIRE TILL YOU SEE THE WHITES OF THIER EYES" *MASS CASUALTIES FOR BR 1,054 OF 2,300 CONCORD APRIL 19, 1775 *THE REDCOATS CAME LOOKING FOR A STOCKPILE OF WEAPONS AND GUNPOWDER - THEY DID NOT FIND ANY! *THEY TURN BACK AROUND AND ARE FACED WITH 300 MINUTEMEN *FIGHTING BREAKS OUT AGAIN *MAJOR DEFEAT OF THE REDCOATS! *All colonies except GA sent delegates
