*Socio-economic significance

*Future potential
HTML 4.01
HTML5 remains a technological progress the cost of having it doesn't raise. HTML5 as it is an improvement of HTML4, is a standard implemented by W3C, so its not a product to be sold.
HTML 5 will not be controlled by any company. It will be a completely open standard meaning that anybody will be able to create an HTML 5 browser and anybody will be able to create an HTML 5 application.
limitations and costs..
Significance to organisations..
It unifies all web surfing technology and web surfing devises.
The Future of HTML5
Location & context relevance
Much more vocal
Touchy feeling
Talking back to you
Internet is a little bit mute right now, but due to HTML5 we will experience technology with:
2012, Mark Zuckerberg at SF Disrupt: "..the biggest mistake that we made, as a company, is betting too much on HTML5 as opposed to native… because it just wasn’t there. And it’s not that HTML5 is bad. I’m actually, on long-term, really excited about it. One of the things that’s interesting is we actually have more people on a daily basis using mobile Web Facebook than we have using our iOS or Android apps combined. So mobile Web is a big thing for us.”
its not completed. Work in progress..

there is a limit on the local data storage

the local data can be manipulated

syncing offline apps is a headache

the cloud has no liability

upgrades are not for everyone

there is no prioritization offered by web

format incompatibilities

browser dependence
Go with the vision..

-As an example of going beyond these limitations is Google Chrome that supports HTML5 and my experience with HTML has been great, especially Gmail file attachments.
I can easily attach a file to an email message by dragging and dropping the file into my browser window.
-The <video> tag introduced is also beneficial because now videos can easily be inserted and played on a web page without requiring plugins.
The news that brings to light this new emerging technology is that all work is still in progress..
meaning all issues will be solved soon.
